In less than one month, Southwest Florida trades it’s gulf blues and orange sunsets for patriotic reds, whites, and blues during the annual Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July celebration.

Start the party at the annual Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July Parade. Watch as decorative floats, motor vehicles, and local groups and nonprofits in costume make their way down Estero Boulevard. The parade starts just east of our Fort Myers Beach accommodations at Bay Oaks Recreation center at 10 AM. Bay Oaks Recreation center is located at 2731 Oak St, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931. The parade marches west towards Times Square where it concludes just steps from our front door.

Afternoon festivities continue all day in Times Square and along San Carlos Boulevard. Activities include patriotic crafts, a watermelon eating contest and a dunk tank.

Eat, drink, and be merry all day long at local restaurants and eateries including our off-site restaurant Yucatan Beach Standopens in a new window. Experience a fun and festive atmosphere, live music, happy hour and great times with great friends.

The party continues all day and night at our on-site Tiki Bar. Enjoy our all day happy hour, tasty meals and entertainment while splashing in the pool or soaking up the sun.

End your evening with a spectacular fireworks display over the Gulf of Mexico. Join locals and visitors along the sand and in Times Square to “ooh” and “ahh” as you enjoy an unforgettable Independence Day celebration.

When you make Lighthouse Island Resort your Fourth of July hotel on Fort Myers Beach, there is no need to worry about the bridge closures that occur throughout the day. The Matanzas Pass Bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. until Noon for the Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July Parade, and closed again from 9:30pm-11pm to oncoming traffic during the fireworks display.
